Dr Anchal Gupta - Spreading light in Darkness

Dr Anchal Gupta was born in Varanasi in a middle class family. She learned good values from her family itself. She was intelligent since her childhood and cracked MBBS, PGME, SRship, fellowships in her first attempt.

She started her career at MAX super specialty Hospital, as a specialist consultant, soon she was promoted to Super specialist consultant. Anchal had sympathy for those who were needy and could not afford the medical treatment. Her aim was to provide eye care facilities to all those people, who needed it. with this principle She founded Netram Eye Foundation.
She started Netram Eye Foundation from a small basement in 2012. At that time, She wasn't able to afford OT equipment. But soon She managed to have OT in Netram and took equipment on Loan.

After few months, She resigned from Fortis in order to concentrate on Netram - accessible and affordable health care for all. Anchal realized that it was not easy for her to reach every where so designed ' Mini Tele opthalmology model'. She trained various optical shop owners for basic eye diseases, in this way she could reach to various patients and provide treatment accordingly. She started various schemes for community service like free OPD during first half of Tuesday every week.
She initiated project 'ROSHINI' (Rural Optical Service an honorary Netram Initiative) in 2016 where the spectacle of people are checked. A prescription glass is also provided to them. These programmes are held out with the help of Anganwadi workers.
Under project 'VARDAN' She has tied up with pathology Labs, optical centers and diagnostic centers. In this project patients are provided membership of Rs 99 and they are treated throughout the year for free.
Anchal serves as an Adviser to ' Directorate General of Health Services', mobile health scheme for Delhi government. She is also a mother of 3 years old Daughter. The most challenging thing in her life is to make balance between personal life and professional Life.
Today Netram foundation operates in a 5000 sq ft setup, with a team of 5 doctors. The initiatives taken by Dr Anchal for poor and needy are incredible. It isn't easy for a professional Doctor to leave a well settled job and run behind a social cause. Dr Anchal is an inspiration not for young Doctors but also to every Indian.

First Indian Muslim Women Pilot - Syeda Salva Fatima

Syeda Salva Fatima looks like a normal Muslim girl, but She first Muslim Lady pilot in India with a commercial flying License. She has struggled hard to reach at this position. Fatima belongs to a backward area known are Sultan Shahi in Hyderabad. She grew up in poverty, her father was a Baker. Since childhood she wanted to become a Pilot. After completing 12th, She started attending coaching classes sponsored by Siasat daily for Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET). With the financial support of editor of Siasat Daily, Mr Zahid Ali Khan, She completed her Pilot training.
